Hello Second Grade Families!!!!
We hope you are having a wonderful week and having fun participating in our Virtual Spirit Week. Here are some updates for this week. Please read through as much has change in the last couple of days: In accordance with Governor Sisolak's extension of "Stay-at-Home" orders, schools will remain closed through April 30. Effective on April 6th, 2020 food distribution schools will run through spring break (April 6- April 10th). Operations hours have also changed. The new hours effective April 6th is from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. For more information visit ccsd.nutrislice.com To be in compliance with CCSD Regulation 4100 List of Approved Electronic Systems for Communication with Students, all Zoom conferences are suspended. Our grade level is working together to come up with an alternative means to video conference with students and parents. Please look forward to that update. We are really excited to be launching a new program! ST Math is a game-based, visual instructional program. Our goal is to build a deep, conceptual understanding of math through rigorous learning and creative problem solving while engaging, motivating, and challenging our students toward higher achievement. Please look forward to more information on this new program. Our lovely librarian Mrs. Aldrich has been doing some read alouds for our school. Click the link below to hear a wonderful story. During spring break there will be no assignments given. This is a time for family and to enjoy the hard work that you all have been doing thus far. We will return back online Tuesday April 14th. As the Easter holiday approaches, Ortwein is excited to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt. Children color or decorate the eggs however they wish. I have attached one to the message. Then, families hang the eggs in their front windows for everyone to see. Now when families are out for a drive or a walk, they can count how many eggs they can find hanging in the windows. https://drive.google.com/a/nv.ccsd.net/file/d/1dSS4S7_CLgtJspeZZz1-Z3dNj_ub7w7L/view?usp=drivesdk We hope you all have a safe weekend and spring break, and we look forward to reconnecting on April 14th . In the meantime, here is a short video to share with your kiddos. ORTWEIN MISSES THEM : https://youtu.be/SBdQmvevxkE Thank you for your continued patience and support! Ms. Turner and Second Grade |
